Supermal, hello! Where've you come from?

We're Lynden, Jay and James and we're Supermal . We're pretty new on the scene! We released "Bigger Than Big" originally as an instrumental called "Bigger Big" late last year with the inspiration being early 80s electro and hip hop.

How did Luciana get involved?

Jay had worked with Luciana before, so we sent the track through to her writing partner Nick Lowe. We sent it to loads of people to see what they would do, and hers was the first that came back complete with a blistering topline..

Where do you get your inspiration from?

Originally the image we created was that we were from France as the french sound is a huge influence. But we've come clean, we're from London, we just think the french sound rules.

Who else are you loving listening to at the moment?

We reckon the new album from Alex Gopher is fantastic, and an up and coming french dj collective called Revolt who've just been signed and sound very Daft Punk . Also obviously Justice , Mr Oizo and the Ed Banger crew.

What else can we expect from you?

We've just done a remix of Salt N Peppa "Push It" and signed a cross section of stuff to our label. We're working on a Supermal follow up whichi'll be a more traditional funky house sound and writing a track for Luciana's album!
