It All Began…
After making his name DJing Sinclar (as in car not Clare) set up his own record label, Yellow Productions, and started producing his own tracks. The one which set ears buzzing was released in 1998: it was called Gym Tonic and sampled a Jane Fonda workout tape.
When Not Making Music:
Bob Sinclar initially wanted to be a tennis pro but chased his musical dream after dancing at 80s disco Le Palace in Paris where he was raised.
He Said It:
“Bob is an alter ego for me” he says. “It was important for me to have fun and relive that disco era. So I wanted to invent a character who was like a porn star or a disco hero or a spy – a James Bond parody, but cool, like the Fonz.”
Did You Know?
Bob Sinclar’s real name is actually Chris Lefriant – he got the name from an old French spy film.
