Basement Jaxx duo Felix Burton and Simon Ratcliffe are responsible for a string of massive chart hits, and have remixed Missy Elliott, DJ Sneak and Justin Timberlake.

It All Began…

Felix and Simon met at a Thames riverboat party in 1994 and started putting on club nights in the back room of an Irish pub. Simon had a studio in a basement and the music ‘jacked’ and so Basement Jaxx was born!

Awards:

Several Mixmag and Dancestar awards, a Musik Magazine award, a Brit, the first ever dance-album Grammy and more. We’re jealous.

When Not Making Music:

The Jaxx stick to what they know best – if they’re not making music, they’re probably sleeping away the journey to their next destination.

They Said It:

“The crowds have changed. They’re all new young kids. The original Jaxx crowds are now smoking their pipes and wearing their slippers.”

Did You Know?

They formed Atlantic Jaxx Records and had their first Top 20 hit – Flylife - in 1997.
